Jack Lausten (’21) Looks Forward To A Strong Soccer Season
March 1, 2019
Varsity soccer captain Jack Lausten (‘21) is pushing through tryouts this week with his team. Lausten has been playing for Forge since his freshman year, and he’s coming back for his second season. Not only is it his first year on varsity, but he is also one of the team captains.
Lausten expects the upcoming season to go well. “We have a pretty good team this season, even after we lost a lot of seniors,” he said.
Lausten says he was surprised to be chosen as one of the team’s captains.
“Normally it’s upperclassmen that get picked, but this year coach chose all three of the captains, instead of the team choosing,” Lausten said. “He chose me and another sophomore.”
In reference to the importance of being a captain, Lausten said “To me, being captain is all about how we do this season. I just want the team to play well and win lots of games.”
Lausten’s excitement about being a captain most likely stems from his his history with soccer.
“I am really passionate about soccer. I’m always playing either at travel, high school, or just at Embrey with my friends,” said Lausten.
