Some students spend their time outside of school behind the computer or the TV but Olivia Harman (’15) enjoys spending her free time behind the wheel, a pottery wheel that is.
After having a birthday party at the downtown Fredericksburg establishment, Pots and Palettes, Olivia got hooked on pottery.
“It’s a really good stress reliever,” she said. “You have to pound the clay to get the air bubbles out and it relieves your stress.”
Olivia makes a variety of projects with pottery, including everything from plates to mugs.
She takes a pottery class every Wednesday.
“I’m with a bunch of old people but I still enjoy the pottery.”
She has been making pottery since around the seventh grade and plans on continuing the hobby.
