In 2023, 5,286 teens were either injured, or killed due to gun violence in the U.S, and as of April 4th, 2024, only 7 states prohibit the use of guns.
All data was compiled from The Gun Violence Archive.
*South Dakota is the only state without any documented gun violence.
**Unfortunately, due to the sheer amount of cases in Texas and Illinois, they could not be included within the map. The 2 states have the highest count of both murders, and injuries.
***The cases mapped off the U.S cannot be changed, however, they still belong to their respective state.(Ex. a case that happened in Somerset, New Jersey is appears in Sydney, Australia on the map).
Any case not visible on the map was not properly documented, therefore were not able to be included.
